The Modern Slavery Trap
how the puzzle pieces fit
when i woke up today, i thought to myself that, “what kind of life i am hoping to achieve”?, what kind of goals should a person like me even have. what kind of advance technologies the future will have which i have to either innovate or utilize in order to become successful and stuff like that, what does success even mean when the only baseline description for success is your “net worth” or how much money you make.
I keep asking myself these same questions everyday, that why, why the really truly great minded individuals who we think that they should be “successful” are actually not in the current economic system, and due to the shift of economy towards the digital world, a lot of money made in this digital era, is not made by “the people who studied really hard”, or someone who chose to do everything which they’ve been told by the people they ‘trust the most’. why is that people end up in a game of life which just forces to do things which are repetitive, labor like time consuming, not contributing to their overall growth or anything, energy draining, against their mindset type things, and still they have to do all those things in order to ‘sustain’ and ‘survive’ because that is how the world is made, that is how the power hierarchy functions, that is how the dynamics of the economic ladder works.
And then when they come back home, sit down, relax after their 5 days of non stop service to their ‘god like organization’, which they put all of their blood and sweat, tore apart years of life to get into, when they finally come home after living in the place which they fought for for years, they do not feel accomplished, they do not feel fulfilled.
Now when they turn on their devices, to brush away those dreadful thoughts, they are greeted with a lot of shiny objects, shiny peoples, shiny living and non living things who, are presenting themselves in front of them by a digitalized way of communication , and showing how shiny they are, how thick the plating of gold, silver, platinum they have and literally mocking the person who actually is in a place where he wanted to be, making him feel like, she’s not enough, he’s not enough, and he’s missing out in a lot of things which he never might’ve wanted in the first place, but now due to the fact that everyone is talking about that thing, everyone is wanting that thing, everyone’s mouth is dripping with the water of desire about that thing…he wants it too.
And thus began, the cycle of supply and demand. where the demand is created by the very thing which should’ve provided relief after a long day at work, and supply, well, the supply to fulfill the demands comes after draining the life force out of the individual’s 60hr times 4.3 work week, after that the individual gets the required commodity, the only thing, which lets the person fulfill all of their dreams, paint themselves with unworldly jewels from the sky itself and shine more than the nightly stars. They finally get it, which we all know as MONEY.
